We currently have an opportunity for a Microsoft SQL Server Database Developer.
SQL Server Database Developers are responsible for designing, architecting and developing high transaction / high availability database-driven applications, data warehouses, and decision support systems. In this position, you will perform database application development, including design, development, and optimization of stored procedures, views, and queries; SQL Reporting Services reports; SQL Server Analysis Services Cubes; SQL Server Report Builder models; and a variety of scorecards and dashboards. You may also assist with the creation of database upgrade migration strategies, develop database maintenance, tuning, optimization, replication, and monitoring plans, and perform server administration as required to ensure system stability and maintainability.
Qualified candidates will have work experience that includes the following skill sets:
- Strong knowledge of database theory and design (logical & physical design)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server 2000 or 2005 including installation, configuration, and deployment. Experience with clustering technology is a plus.
- Intricate knowledge of Transact-SQL programming (stored procedures, triggers, views) and optimization
- Working knowledge of all aspects of SQL Server performance tuning and optimization
- Experience implementing release management, backup procedures, and replication for database systems
- Experience architecting and developing business intelligence solutions such as data warehouses, data marts, business scorecards and analytics using SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and dashboard technology, such as Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager and ProClarity.
Successful individuals will be self-starters with the following attributes:
- MCDBA certification is optional with relevant experience
- Relevant Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of hands-on database development and design experience with an emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server technologies
- Solid consulting background and experience implementing complex technology solution projects
- Strong business writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal relations and team orientation
- High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment to quality
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Desire to pursue applicable professional development and certifications
- Demonstrated initiative and positive can-do attitude
