We have an opportunity for a Software Developer - Set Top Box for a busy Interactive Television company specializing in the cruise ship industry.
Developing and Maintaining Interactive Television Applications for Linux based Set Top Boxes (STB). You will be developing STB maintenance applications that deal with everything from standard operating system functions (file system, network, keyboard) to browser add-ons that are used within the Interactive Television applications. You will have the opportunity to develop for both HDTV and SDTV based set top boxes.
- Proficient in (3+ Years in each):
- C/C++
- User Level Knowledge Linux
- User Level Knowledge of Windows
- Linux/Unix Network Programming (IP, Sockets, TCP and UDP communication)
- Linux Shell Scriptin
- Basic understanding of network protocols (i.e. Multicast vs. Unicast, DHCP, and VLAN
- Knowledge of is a plus:
- .NET Development
- Development Experience with Cable Set Top Boxes
- Any Graphics programming skills
- Any Television/Video Skills a plus but not required(MPEG2, Multicasting, Unicasting, etc)
- Other Requirements
- The applicant should have prior experience working with teams and individually
- The applicant should be able to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks
