Technology Specialist
Location:  Pittsburgh, PA

Allin Consulting has an opportunity for a Technology Specialist.
 
A Technology Specialist must provide technology direction and guidance on targeted projects from solution vision through system implementation for Collaborative Solutions projects, including interacting with the project team to understand requirements for web-based and n-tier applications, portals, sites and workshops; recommending and providing guidance and implementation assistance for technology-based solutions for these projects, and managing the schedule to the contracted schedule and budget, with minimal direction and review. 

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise
  • Maintain a high level proficiency with a wide range of technologies and be able to consistently apply these to project work in a real-world environment. 
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement and/or maintain the most complex technology based solutions for clients in accordance with technical requirements, client requirements and systems compatibility. 
  • Use expertise to recommend innovative technology solutions which meet the business needs of all parties, and have the technical expertise to deliver these on-time and within budget.

Business Solutions

  • Analyze client requirements and recommend solutions and technologies that meet client requirements and expectations.
  • Perform multiple assignments at one time, including participating on multiple projects simultaneously while individually contributing technical expertise to the successful delivery of technical solutions.
  • Understand key concepts of the technology and the client’s business, and work to deliver to these.
  • Work with project team members effectively, within the timeframe and budget agreed upon with the client.
  • Deliver quality products and services.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and referenceability.

Communication (verbal and written)

  • Interact with internal staff members and clients to architect the solution sets and strategies required for multi-tier applications; where necessary build/implement software solutions for these projects.
  • Write technical and customer documentation as required and to client’s satisfaction

Training

  • Deliver formal and informal technology based training to Allin delivery team on an individual or team basis.
  • Conduct client training as required.
  • Strengthen expertise in one or more technology platforms through on the job experience, attendance at technical seminars and formal training, and certification.
  • Stay current with the latest releases, information, techniques, certifications, etc., in a given technology solution or practice area and take proactive steps to share this information within their practice area and office. 
  • Work to develop skills, both technical and consulting skills, such that they are positioned to meet or exceed Allin’s utilization objectives.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff.

Practice-specific obligations

  • Bill at least 70% of time to Allin clients over the course of a year.
  • Command high bill rates reflective of a technical expert in their area of expertise.
  • Manage project workloads such that when assigned to a project, candidate is fully utilized each day.
  • Assist with the interview process for new hire candidates.

Competencies

Technical

  • Stay current with technology in designated areas of expertise.
  • Understand full software development lifecycle methodology.
  • Ability to design, develop, and deliver to test plans.
  • Ability to analyze information gathered from users, available documentation, and organizational research to perform functional requirements analyses for programs.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% throughout US.
  • Work evenings and weekends when needed.

Credentials and Experience

  • 4 + years experience with a technology solution or practice area exhibiting the use and mastery of latest state of the art technical tools and/or applications. 
  • Possess a premiere Microsoft certification, preferably MCPD or MCSD.
  • Possess an excellent grasp and understanding of at least two technologies or products, with at least two internal and two external presentations given within their area of expertise

     leisure industry.
