Allin Interactive in Ft. Lauderdale has an opening for a Support Technician.
The Support Technician maintains computer systems on a day to day basis in support of an Interactive Entertainment solution provider. A successful candidate will be self motivated, willing to learn on his/her own, and willing to have work reviewed by the customer. This position is a Level 2+ support position.
- Review hardware status and identify components that are not functioning properly
- Document failed component model / part information
- Forward component information to Purchasing for quote
- Prepare component replacement procedure or travel to site for replacement as required
- Review server event logs for warnings and errors
- Review network devices including Switches and NIC’s for errors
- Install software updates on production systems
- Install OS and applications on machines requiring recovery
- Review system health, identify potential failures
- Conduct preventative maintenance on servers as necessary
Install, configure and deploy the components to deliver the project solution.
- Install OS and Application software for demonstration / development systems
- Test solution to insure designed functionality
- Document final build of solution
Technical
- System Hardware: Knowledge of common hardware components and basic system construction
- System Architecture: Unified directory services such as Active Directory, Windows NT domains, and Microsoft server operating systems.
- Security: Controlling access to resources; Auditing access to resources; Authentication; Encryption.
- Network Infrastructure: Network topology; IP addressing; Name resolution such as WINS and DNS; Virtual private networks; Remote access.
- Resources: Printers; Files and folders; Applications; Web sites.
- Hardware Devices & Drivers: Storage devices; I/O devices such as printers and scanners; Server computers; Client computers.
- Reliability & Availability: Hardware and software components that provide: Fault tolerance; Load balancing; Disaster recovery methods such as backup and restore.
