Ideal Candidates Individuals with 3-5 years of experience with SQL clustering, SharePoint and Microsoft Infrastructure Support, SAN, and Virtualization Technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience and Competencies:
- 3-5+ years of experience with systems engineering, including high availability system development and high availability administration/troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Operating Systems (MOSS 2007/WSS 3.0, Windows Server 2003/2008, SQL Server 2005/2008)
- 1-3 years supporting a Microsoft-centric environment.
- 3-5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server; previous experience implementing clustering.
- 1-3 years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies; previous experience implementing or managing a SharePoint farm preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Demonstrated ability to display strong sense of urgency to customers facing issues.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the design, deployment and supporting of standalone and clustered SQL environments for our database requirements in two Philadelphia area data centers.
- Support the development, implementation and management of database driven applications.
- Support the deployment of new infrastructure and virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V.
- Assist as required during other IT infrastructure projects, security or governance discussions.
- Lead the implementation of high availability SharePoint farms.
- Address issues in a methodical way, accepting escalated issues from junior level staff members.
- Ability to have full ownership of SQL engineering
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours, both onsite and remote as needed is required.
- On call availability for evenings and weekends (24/7) during assigned periods.
- Project/Products focus:
- Sole focus is SharePoint (WSS 3.0 80%, MOSS 20%)
- Supporting technologies are Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, SQL, and storage technologies.
Initial Projects:
- Lead the deployment of SQL clusters, choose hardware and supporting technologies, execute on project.
- Establish framework for secure database provisioning to support new customers and applications.
- Use knowledge of ASP model and Hosting business to improve operational efficiency.
