Pittsburgh, PA:  Allin Corporation (OTCBB: ALLN), a Microsoft Gold Certified technology consulting company, announced that its Northern California office was awarded the Best Practices Award at Microsoft’s State of the District Meeting for the first half of Microsoft’s 2008 fiscal year.  The Best Practices award recognizes exceptional expertise or competency by a partner in a specific industry, vertical, solution or segment. It also celebrates the partner’s commitment to their specific area of specialization.

Allin was presented the Best Practices Award for their work in helping Microsoft “Win the Web” as part of Microsoft’s NextWeb Program.  NextWeb is Microsoft’s offering of products, services, and servers that enable customers to deliver and manage their Web Platform.  From Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Silverlight to ASP.NET and Windows Server to Live Services, Microsoft is the only company with the full complement of technologies and solutions that can foster the next wave of innovation on the Internet.

 Allin has delivered eight public facing websites on Microsoft’s Next Generation Web Platform.  The most notable is the site that Allin built for Glu Mobile, www.glu.com which was recently featured on the Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies Team Blog, the official blog of the SharePoint Product Group.  Glu Mobile, a global leader in the fiercely competitive market of video games, needed a more appealing and functional Web site as well as a far easier way to update, localize, and personalize the site’s content. Facing the functionality and flexibility limitations of the open-source technology on which the site was built, executives decided to rebuild it using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and supporting Microsoft tools and technologies. Developers built the new site in an impressive four months’ time by taking advantage of the technologies’ built-in features for web content management, workflow, storage and security while focusing the majority of the effort building a rich user experience with the integrated Microsoft developer toolset. Glu Mobile now has a scalable, reliable, and highly functional site that can be enhanced to accommodate new products and markets within hours instead of days.  In a recently published Case Study, Ron Sha, Chief Information Officer for Glu Mobile (www.glu.com) noted, “when the executives saw what SharePoint Server 2007 could do, they agreed it was an ideal tool for businesses that want to benefit from faster Web-site development, deployment, and enhancements.”
