Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 helps organizations measure, monitor, and manage business performance with an interactive scorecard that provides live data from a variety of business data sources. It helps organizations evaluate business strategy and monitor business performance through the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) that are directly related to defined business goals.
Objective: The objective of the QuickStart is to develop a Pilot that will demonstrate how the Business Scorecard Manager can be used to perform business functions such as:
- Measure overall performance against strategies that apply throughout the organization, where each KPI or objective represents an organization-wide goal, such as operational efficiency.
- Monitor the relative performance of the divisions in an organization, where each objective represents the performance of a division as measured by KPIs appropriate to each division.
- Determine the effectiveness of the functional areas (such as sales, customer service, and finance) of an organization, even if these functional areas cross divisions. Again, each objective represents the performance of a functional area, as measured by KPIs appropriate to it.
- Track the success of key strategic initiatives, at the organizational or departmental level, where each objective represents a strategic initiative that is measured by the appropriate KPIs.
