Why should ITV be Important to Me?
Interactive Television has been a hot topic for many years.  What does ITV mean to you, to your customers, and to your bottom line?  Allin has years of experience answering these fundamental questions and designing systems to meet your needs.  Other ITV providers produce hypothetical designs, with theoretical usage and revenue projections.  As a provider of ITV systems in vertical markets for more than 10 years, Allin provides real information, real statistics and real working solutions for ITV.

Interactive Television is becoming more and more prevalent in the homes of average consumers.  So are the changes in television technology.  Today, 5% of American households have DVR’s (Digital Video Recorders – the most simplistic form of ITV), and slightly less than 4% have High-Definition TV (HDTV).  Within the next 3 years, over 50% of American households will have HDTV and 33% will have DVR’s.  These fundamental changes in consumer entertainment will have to be addressed by travel companies and operators.  Failure to adequately address these changes will result in the impression of sub-standard or antiquated service.

The decision to implement an Interactive Television solution is driven by a number of other factors.  These include:

  • Increased customer expectations for their experiences in entertainment venues
  • Continual pressure to improve customer service
  • Reduced workforce requirements to deliver customer service
  • Need to discover incremental revenue sources
  • Increased need to centralized the storage of all information (CRM applications, systems integration)
  • Return on Investment (ROI) improvement expectations
  • Demand for unique applications to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty

Generally, the two strongest factors are increased customer expectations in a given venue and the ROI to meet or exceed those expectations.  Leisure and entertainment facilities, in particular, target potential guests by providing a package of facilities, services and amenities which are designed to deliver the highest possible level of experience.  It is difficult to quantify the ROI calculation of a bed, a shower, or an elegant foyer.  However, no one would argue that these amenities contribute significantly to the overall guest experience.  Similarly, no one looks to justify the cost of a television system—this amenity is simply one that people have come to expect.  Three critical factors all work on your customer expectations.  These include market changes, changes in the competition as well as change in the standard consumer experience.  Allin is able to assist clients to creating and maintaining a competitive edge with proven ROI.

Allin recognizes that the up front hardware and development costs of an ITV system are only part of the overall ITV ROI equation.  Historical usage patterns and revenues generated by the various ITV modules are used to project incremental revenue and operational labor and cost savings.  Other critical ROI components include the costs to install, ability to upgrade, and the costs to maintain the ITV system.  All of these factors have been considered along with potential incremental marketing and advertising revenues to justify the deployment of Allin’s robust ITV solutions.

Allin recognizes the fine balance between technology advances and the need for reliable and proven solutions.  As a result, we work with you to deliver a system that meets your needs without putting you on the “bleeding edge” of technology.  Allin systems typically achieve payback and return on investment in as little as 3 – 5 years.  We invite you to take a more in-depth look at our technology and systems via the white paper and on-line demonstrations available at this site.
