What is the Trusted IT Advisor Service?
You are probably familiar with the idea of putting a law firm ‘on retainer’
to represent your company. When you retain a law firm, they learn about your
business to the extent necessary to effectively advise you on various legal
matters and are then available to respond to requests you submit with a tailored
response considering your company particulars. Your retainer gives you access to
resources across all areas of expertise within that firm, as your needs dictate.
You also have confidentiality agreements where the law firm will not share any
information about your company with anyone else.
The Trusted IT Advisor Service works like the law firm retainer. You enter
into an agreement with Allin Consulting which provides a certain amount of hours
you can use over the year for any IT related purpose. There is no set schedule
or list of deliverables. Once the agreement is signed, Allin spends some time
with senior IT staff learning about your business, goals, any pain points you
currently have and what initiatives you want to pursue over the period.
The agreement ensures confidentiality so you can be comfortable sharing more
detail about internal issues and plans than what you would share in a less
structured situation.
Allin's consultants have years of experience across all areas of IT
operations. This experience coupled with knowledge of your business allows Allin
to provide a detailed response on matters of concern while considering the
potential effect on the organization as a whole.
Why would I consider the Trusted IT Advisor Service?
When you sign up for the Trusted IT Advisor Service you have effectively
added another very knowledgeable and experienced member to your IT staff. Allin
can be a sounding board for new ideas. Allin is politically neutral and will
present an unbiased opinion on any issue within our areas of expertise with pros
and cons as they relate to your business.
Here is an example. Say your CEO has read about this new ‘xyz’ technology and
thinks it would be just the thing for this ‘abc’ initiative he’s planning. You
are swamped with the change over from Windows XP to Windows 7 and do not have
the resources to respond to his request in a timely manner. You submit a request
to Allin with a desired level of effort to apply, noting the technology and the
initiative the CEO is interested in. Allin processes your request and submits a
detailed response tailored to your company particulars.
