Allin Consulting contracts with AZ Freight to create a fully-automated Inventory Management System Application, eliminating manual data entry and increasing operational efficiency.
The Challenge:
AZ Freight is a container freight shipping company that has been in business for over 20 years. They have offices in New Jersey, Charleston, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. AZ’s shipping, cargo, and freight services include: Full-Service Bonded Transportation, Container Freight Stations for De-Consolidation and Consolidation, Local Trucking and Distribution, Warehousing, and coast-to-coast trucking.
AZ was running operations manually, managing inventory and cargo using paper logs and manually entering daily transaction information into their accounting system. This process delayed the speed at which they could move cargo on trucks on and off the location, a key driver of revenue, and also prevented immediate reporting on financial matters.
The Solution:
AZ partnered with Allin Consulting to develop a new system for managing their freight/cargo inventory and customer rate schedules. Allin Consulting designed and built a custom software application that integrated with AZ’s accounting software, providing them with increased efficiency and improved operations management.
Allin Consulting began with extensive design sessions, in order to understand AZ’s business operations structure and their software requirements. They produced a technical document detailing how the system should be built, and, after performing an internal QA of the system, they began system development.
The Benefits:
AZ’s operations are now fully-automated, and information is no longer entered manually. The new system provides AZ with increased transparency and operational speed, improving overall efficiency. Allin Consulting provided AZ with a post-deployment support and maintenance contract and is currently supporting the application and all IT operations for AZ, including hosting in the Allin datacenter.
