The Challenge:
The financial services company was using a product fulfillment and order management/tracking process that revolved around spreadsheets and “hands-off” access databases. This included sales activity, product management, order management, order fulfillment, and sales commissioning. The process resulted in inefficient order creation and workflow.
The Solution:
Allin Consulting built a custom web application to replace all spreadsheet processes and access databases.
They began with a business review of existing processes, spreadsheets, and access forms and tables. After the review, the desired new functionality was outlined and a design document detailing the software requirements was created. This was followed by application development, QA, and client-driven user acceptance testing. Once testing was complete, Allin deployed the system and maintained it with an offshore team conducting training for eventual hands-off support.
The Benefits:
Order creation time was reduced from 15 minutes per order to 5 minutes per order. The system was able to apply automated product and workflow rules that previously required manual oversight, as well as automated reporting for sales commissioning. The system brought processes into SOX compliance and eliminated spreadsheets and manual workflows, increasing overall efficiency and decreasing costs.
